The Lehi Silver Band offers adults (and advanced youth) an opportunity to enjoy, grow and share their musical talents in a low-pressure environment. For many folks, it’s a way to return to making music after months, years, or even decades.
We value fun over polish. We want to make high quality music, but the end goal is enjoyment, not perfection.
What sets the Lehi Silver Band apart:
Low barrier to entry – There are no fees to participate and no auditions for most ensembles. We expect at least a high school level of musical ability, but YOU decide if the band is a good fit for you, not the other way around.
Music should be fun – Rehearsals are structured, but the environment is supportive, human, and enjoyable.
Flexible membership options – Members can join only the Concert Band, or join additional groups—whatever fits their abilities, interests, and schedules. See Ensembles for more details.
The Lehi Silver Band operates under a 501(c)(3) nonprofit called the Lehi Area Music Association. Rather than collect membership fees, we get our funding from Lehi PARC Tax grants, business donations, and individuals in the community. This funding allows us to purchase music, instruments, and other materials, as well as rent rehearsal and performance venues.
The Lehi Silver Band is led by volunteers drawn from the band membership. They coordinate all administrative aspects of the band and Association, including funding, scheduling, advertising, maintaining our online presence, and (of course) rehearsals and performances. In all of this, they aim to create a welcoming, well-organized, and fun musical experience for band members and audiences.
Thomas is a woodwind and keyboard player who draws on a widely varied amateur and collegiate music background to bring fun and improvement to every rehearsal.
A virtuosic trumpet player, Tracy leads the band council in preparing and submitting annual proposals for Lehi PARC Tax grants and overseeing processes and paperwork to keep our nonprofit in good condition.
Kathy has been playing flute in the Lehi Silver Band since it was revived in 1997! She maintains our music library and keeps our finances organized.
With over a decade of experience in the Lehi Silver Band and many other ensembles, trombonist Mark assists in directing rehearsals, preparing small group numbers, and so much more!
In addition to being a very capable percussionist, Tim reaches out to facilities to arrange for us to perform. We couldn't do concerts without him!
Carli plays alto saxophone, takes notes at meetings, and helps coordinate community outreach efforts and advertising for our concerts.
